FEATI University’s Double Date for Cadets and Graduates

FEATI University celebrates twice in one day as it honors its graduating students on April 12, 2014 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

The day begins with the University’s 68th Commencement Exercises with the theme, Accountability: The Mark of a Full-Fledged FEATInian. For Batch 2014 Guest of Honor and Commencement Speaker will be DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya.

In the afternoon, cadets of the FEATI University College of Maritime Education (CME) will converge at the PICC for the third edition of the CME Recognition Rites anchored a similar theme, Accountability: The Mark of a Full-Fledged FEATI Mariner. This event is meant to recognize the College’s third-year deck and engine cadets for completing the academic requirements leading to their respective BS degrees. Poised to embark on a year-long shipboard training, they are often hired straight off which often means that they are on board ships at the time of their own graduation day. The University wants to see to it that the cadets get their share of recognition in their merchant marine whites before literally being shipped out. Guest of Honor and Speaker for the afternoon’s event is Atty. Alvin A. Tormon, Executive Director of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA). FEATIU Maritime Industry Partners and Distinguished FEATIU Maritime Alumni will also be recognized in their own right.

Following tradition, maritime industry partners shall witness the recognition of the cadets and meet with the cadets and their parents after the event to discuss cadetship and the options for a rewarding career in seafaring.

The entire FEATI University community, together with parents and guardians, is, once again, anticipating this great sendoff for hundreds of its cadets, and graduates. Congratulations to Batch 2014 for making it through University! Things are Looking Up! (AMD)
