FEATI University shines Blue and Gold in first ISAA Chorale Fest
Belting out well-loved classics in keeping with Christmas was sheer exhilaration and passion for the FEATI University Chorale. FEATI's young men and women looked resplendent in their blue and gold Filipiniana ensemble and gave one of the most applauded performances in ISAA's first Chorale Festival at the Fleur De Lis auditorium of St. Paul University Manila. Leading the chorale in their musical soiree was Mr. Armin V. Comon, FEATI's in-house conductor who holds a Master's in Music in Chorale Conducting from the University of the Philippines. Also playing a major role in fine-tuning the chorale's musical chops was Sr. Emily Camarote D.C., FEATI's Campus Minister.
Their set list included He Loved Me (Doug Holck and Tom Fettke); El Collar de Sampaguita (Francisco Buencamino); a Medley of beloved Philippine folk songs (from the song book of Herminigildo G. Renera); and, Simbang Gabi (Maestro Lucio San Pedro).
The ISAA or Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association is composed of Manila Adventist College, Philippine Merchant Marine School, St. Dominic College of Asia, Manila Tytana Colleges, Philippine Women's University, La Consolacion College Manila and FEATI University.
Aside from member schools, St. Paul University also gave a crowd-pleasing performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Sound of Music ending the program on a very high note.
In attendance for FEATI University were Dr. Gloria Mateo-Alberto, EVP and COO; Ms. Melanie P. Florentino, Head for Events, Promotions, Sports and Alumni Affairs, the entire Events team, and a contingent of FEATI students and supporters.
The Festival was also a night dedicated to #voicesforvisayas, an onsite fund drive that generated more than Php9,000 for the Yolanda rehabilitation project. A portion of the proceeds from Festival ticket sales shall be added to the said amount. (AMD)
