FEATI University graduates receive glowing employer feedback

The Student Assistance Services Office (SASO) of FEATI University constantly keeps in touch with different corporations to find out which alumni are more than just “making it” professionally. “The goal,” according to SASO officer Teng Ladip, “is to make sure that our graduates are not just coasting along and earning a paycheck. We’d like to find out if they are contributing their God-given skills to making a difference in these organizations thereby earning their stripes through promotions. At the very least, we expect them to make their employers sit up and take notice.”

How is this done?

SASO sends letters to these corporate organizations and asks for a list of FEATI U graduates who were hired and whose performances vis-à-vis strengths and qualities mean that they are “keepers”.

The feedback has been absolutely positive.

Borland Development Corporation in Novaliches, Quezon City has this to say about FEATI graduates Allan Richard V. Sobrepenas, Joevannie M. Saguid, Mario T. Cabrera, Jr., Peter M. Dascil, Armando N. Prias, Jr., and Aries D. Salenga.

According to Ms. Ethel Marie E. Canales, Personnel officer of Borland Development Corporation, “All of them work really hard to promote the welfare of our company. In fact, Messrs. Sobrepenas, Cabrera, Salenga, and Prias were promoted from Field Surveyors to Senior Surveyors.  Messrs. Saguid and Dascil are currently supervising one of our sites as Site Engineers. We have had employees from FEATI who resigned as they have been offered jobs overseas.”

Capt. Enrico V. Dapusoy, Senior Crewing Manager of Fleet Management Services Philippines, Inc. / FML-Manila also gave this glowing report for SASO.

We would like to inform you that two of your graduates from 2010, John Eric C. Depusoy and Christian Rey J. Garcia are presently onboard our manned container vessels. Mr. Depusoy as Full Third Officer and Mr. Garcia as Fourth Engineer.

In a letter addressed to Ms. Ladip, Capt. Depusoy stated “You must be very proud of these gentlemen as according to my source, Capt. Alex Aquino, they were the first ones to become officers at this early stage in their respective careers.”

It isn’t only in the fields of Geodetic and Maritime Education that FEATI graduates are being noticed. The University’s Aeronautics and AMT graduates are being assigned coveted positions at Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTTP). LTTP has been partnering with FEATI since 1966. To date, 88 FEATI graduates were hired and have been promoted to coveted positions as Section Manager, Manager, Shift Manager, Senior Inspector, A/C Avionics Mechanic, Duty Manager, Cabin Mechanic A, Inspector, Logistics Specialist, Sr. Production Planner, Tool & Equipment Foreman, Structural Mechanic A, Foreman, Jr. and Sr. Engineer, A/C Mechanic Component A, Chief A/C Servicing Coordinator, Logistics Specialist, Crew Chief, Team Leader, and Jr. Project Engineer.

Pornebo, Neil Bryant C. Siy, Carlo C. Delavin, Reuben James V. Martin, Nelson R. Sarmiento, Jr. and Noel Paul Marcelino S. Simbul and Ms. Mariel V. Prescioso have been short-listed for jobs as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Aircraft Mechanic, Maintenance Service Representative, and Avionics Repair Supervisor. They all passed grueling employment requirements just to enter the list. Furthermore, all were found to have skills and qualifications that were above industry standards.
