Jobs180.com and Globe support FEATIU GradSPreP
FEATI University through its Student Assistance Services Office (SASO) and the Graduating Students Preparation Program a.k.a. GradSPreP is at it again--Preparing students, that is, for the imminent phase of their lives that consists of moving up, landing a job, earning their way, and making a niche in their chosen field.
The event held at the 5th floor AVR of University carried the theme, “Marketing Me!” and has become one of the University’s most awaited annual events. Graduating students get a good look at what job opportunities await them after graduation and get a head start on how to prepare themselves for the real world by presenting themselves as “the total package.”
Engr. Jorge P. Bautista, GradSPreP Program Director provided an overview of GradSPreP to the uninitiated while Maria Natividad “Teng” C. Ladip, Student Assistance Services Officer, introduced the Guest Speakers for the morning session, Ms. Mary Ann G. De La Cruz - Customer Service/Quality Assurance Manager for Globe and Mr. Allan Andrada, Marketing Officer of Jobs180.com. Welcome Remarks were delivered by College of Maritime Education Superintendent Engr. Edmon S. Aloc and Geodetic Engineering Department Chairperson, Engr. Enrique A. Macaspac.
In a “Most Impressive Resume Link” competition judged by SASO and Jobs180.com, five students were selected to receive special prizes for completing with aplomb their on-line resumes, the winners were announced on facebook for their peers to see. They submitted their original job links and showed what it took to get noticed and to stand out from the pack. Most Impressive Resume Link winners are:

An Open Forum was also part of the program during which questions addressed by the participants to the resource persons dealt with important concerns in striving to get the ideal job match that would lead to longevity in the job market. If the quality of the questions is taken as an indication the prognosis was more than positive for this batch of FEATInians. With their hard work they can look forward to a fruitful future as they follow the lead of the University in matching their talents to available jobs. Yes, the students still have their work cut out for them but the quality education they obtained from FEATIU should take them to a fast-track career that will pay off handsomely in more ways than one.
