FEATI University continues quest for academic excellence

Academic year 2011-2012 is already in full swing but the preparations made by FEATI University to make sure its students get the full benefits of learning began well before the opening of classes on June 13.

While the students were on break, FEATI University focused on strengthening its academic backbone by holding seminars and workshops for the university’s much valued faculty and staff members. Proof of this was the recently concluded three-part series held on various dates throughout the month of May. The first part, on May 5 and 6, 2011, facilitated by Dr. Henry L. Galuba of Lorma Colleges, delved in detail on Integration and Utilization of FEATI University Purposes, Objectives, and Values in Teaching and in the Workplace. The second part held on May 11 and 12, 2011 was on Evaluation of Learning Outcomes expertly explained by Dr. Allan B. De Guzman of the University of Sto. Tomas. The third part, on May 26 and 27, 2011, tackled the principles of Multidisciplinary Strategies and Approaches in Teaching with Dr. Angela P. Sarile of UP Manila facilitating the interaction. The series of seminars and workshops were anchored on the overall theme, “Towards Leveraging Instructional Leadership.” These activities were organized by Dr. Gloria Mateo-Alberto, FEATI’s EVP for Development and Compliance; and Mr. Richie D. Pescador, FEATI’s newly-minted head of Human Resources.

Around forty-six participants, majority of whom were faculty members from the University’s various colleges, participated in the exchange, brainstorming, and team presentation required to reach completion of each series presented on the abovementioned dates.

These are just the beginning of a series of activities for the university’s faculty and staff. It is expected that through platforms like these, students will be the direct beneficiaries in terms of higher thinking and communicating, positive relationships, and meaningful learning in and out of the classroom. Indeed, the bottom-line and end-goal should be that the students must benefit from FEATI endeavors akin to these. (AMD)
