FEATI University IT Department Trains DepEd Teacher in Web Page Development

For training high school students and teachers of SWEEP partner schools in Web Development, faculty members of FEATI University IT Department were awarded certificates of appreciation by SMART Communications, Inc. SWEEP is the SMART Wireless Engineering Education Program, which has partner high schools and higher education institutions throughout the country. FEATI University is a SWEEP partner.

SMART SWEEP trainer, Mr. Lloyd Anthony Layug, together with FEATI University IT Department Chairperson Ms. Jovy Lopez-Factor, Assistant Chairperson Mr. Winchell B. Palomeno, and full-time faculty members Messrs. Jeffrey P. Palma and Gary Andrew A. Lacanilao, facilitated the Web Development Training on May 12 to 14, 2009 at the Computer Laboratory of Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Manila.

The training session is aimed at enabling SWEEP partner schools in creating their school websites. Among the schools assisted by the trainors were Tagaytay National High School, Gallanosa National High School, Signal Village High School, Diosdado Macapagal High School, Ligao National High School, Florentino Torres High School, General Nakar High School, Cotta National High School, Don Eulogio de Guzman Memorial National High School, Puerto Galera National High School, Las Piñas East National High School, Marinduque National High School, Sorsogon National High School, Bataan National High School, and Urdaneta City National High School. “We are glad that we are part of this endeavor to help DepEd teachers and students design, publish and maintain their school websites.” Ms. Factor said . She added that this training has provided the participants with the technical skills and know-how in content generation and web development using HTML, Picasa, GIMP, Seamonkey, and MS FrontPage.
