TFAT Scholars and Scholarships on the Rise
The FEATINEAN Association of Toronto (TFAT) has been a dependable vessel of generosity for students of the University. In academic year 2013-2014 Marilou Bernarte, a Senior of AB Mass Communications was a scholarship recipient with TFAT shouldering 100% of her tuition and miscellaneous fees.
TFAT Academic Excellence Award (TFAT AEA) certificates went to BS Aeronautical Engineering magna cum laude Joshua Sarasua who also received PhP5,000; BS Customs Administration magna cum laude Dexter Ceniza also received the same amount of PhP5,000; as did aforementioned student Marilou Bernarte, AB Mass Communications cum laude with a certificate of Academic Excellence in Arts, Sciences, and Education. In fact, M. Bernarte got through her senior year on TFAT support.
Present during the awarding during the 68th FEATI University Commencement Exercises of April 12 was TFAT representative Atty. Lourdes Taay-Pagayatan, AB Political Science Class of 1966, sister of Ms. Annie Taay-Buiza one of the founding TFAT members who is still very much into its affairs.
TFAT’s commitment to its members’ alma mater now extends from graduating seniors to two freshmen students who will pass the rigorous screening for AY 2014-2015. Bursary amounts of CDN$500 per student (chosen for the TFAT scholarships) for the first and second semester will generously cover most of the expenses needed to access quality education in any FEATIU program. This move comes auspiciously close to TFAT’s 25th founding anniversary on May 10, 2014 which will naturally, be celebrated in Canada.
Thank you, TFAT, for your acts of generosity to FEATI University. Your collective force is helping more Filipinos rise above their situation through quality education. (AMD)
