Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering
The Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) program was set up to serve as leading provider of technically competent, energetic, and disciplined marine engineers capable of performing to the standard required of the profession for the international and local shipping industry.
In the three-year academic studies, the student is exposed to technical knowledge with concentrations on the theories and practices of safe operation and maintenance of the main propulsion engine(s), auxiliary machineries including generators, boilers, purifiers, pumps and other equipment necessary for the smooth and safe operation of the vessel.
After successfully completing the three-year academic requirements, the student is qualified for the mandatory one-year supervised shipboard training onboard a coastwise or international vessel as engine cadet. Upon return from shipboard training and after passing evaluation, the students graduates with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering.
